The Sky Tower against pink and blue sunset clouds, rising above Auckland CBD rooftops and a SkyCity sign

The Sky Tower is the spire of SkyCity, the casino, hotel and restaurant complex in the middle of Auckland's CBD. One ticket opens three levels of its pod: the Main Observation Level, The Lookout above it and SkyBar below.

The Sky Deck on Level 60 is the highest point open to visitors. Orbit, the revolving restaurant, and the AJ Hackett platform for SkyWalk and SkyJump are booked separately.

Before you go: common questions

Is the Sky Tower worth it?

For a first look at Auckland, yes: from one level you see the harbour, the gulf islands and the volcanic cones the city is built among. The 80 km view needs a clear day, so pick a date with a good forecast; a booking can be changed up to 24 hours before.

How much does it cost to go up the tower?

Admission is NZ$47 for adults and NZ$32 for children aged 3 to 14; under-3s go free. SkyWalk costs NZ$172 and SkyJump NZ$264, both with tower admission included. All ticket prices

Can you visit the tower at night?

Yes. The tower stays open until 20:00 Monday to Thursday and until 20:30 or 21:30 Friday to Sunday, depending on the season, so you can watch the city lights come on. Last entry is 45 minutes before closing.

Can you watch the SkyJump for free?

Yes, from AJ Hackett's street-level spectating platform, free of charge. Inside the tower, the view of the jump is from The Lookout on Level 53, which needs a tower ticket.

Can children go into SkyBar?

No. SkyBar on Level 50 is R18 and may ask for photo ID. The rest of the tower is open to all ages, with children accompanied by an adult.

Is the tower wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Lifts serve every observation level, and there are accessible toilets. SkyWalk and SkyJump are not accessible.
